Monitoring programmes

We have experience in designing and implementing environmental monitoring programmes. This includes both the initial programme design and subsequent implementation, data management and analysis, and reporting. Monitoring programmes are designed based on sound scientific principles and aim to include all ecosystem components from physical habitats and water quality, biological components as well as the pressures being exerted on the ecosystem. Indicators are carefully selected based on the project activities within the ecosystem being monitored to allow any changes to be detected at an early stage and mitigation measures to be implemented where required.

Timeous management interventions are facilitated through the use of electronic tablet based data collection systems which allow monitoring data to be synchronised with an online server providing near real time access to data by broader project teams. We are also able to build web-based data platforms to receive and view data via customised dashboards designed to report on project specific indicators. Examples of these can be found in the Base Kwale and Base Toliara projects as well as in all of our specialist studies.
